Au revoir les livres?
In 2009 I was invited to contribute, as a ceramist, to an exhibition of artists’ books, and as a result I began to deviate from my more abstract work. This new project culminated in a further exhibition a year later, in a beautiful space adjacent to a bookbinder’s workshop.
Au revoir les livres? was intended as a playful celebration of the book as object, to mark its changing status in an age of digital media. Much of my recent work has been connected to this project, and has involved a variety of different media, including saggar firing with ferric chloride. A selection is shown here.
